Thailand usually imports around 300-350 kg per year of marigold seeds from India and Tanzania. This includes 250 kg of cut flower type seeds 50kg of pot-plant type seeds per year respectively.

However, this year, the demand for Marigold Pot-Plant is more than three times the normal size, or about 150-200 Kg.

EWS Thailand is accelerating its imports of marigolds to ensure farmers have access to these seeds, provide a steady supply to the public and to keep prices at normal rates.

The company has already imported 50 kg of marigold seeds from India, or about 15 million seeds to help meet growing demand,

Demand looks to increase steadily until August, when it is time to start planting marigolds, for them to blossom in October.
