Prices of cottonseed up to Rs 50 per quintal at the wholesale oils and oilseeds market today due to pick up in demand from retailers. Traders said pick-up in demand from retailers mainly attributed the rise in cottonseed prices.
In August India's soya bean oil imports have touched an all-time high of 4.06 lakh tonnes (LT) and the total inward shipment of vegetable oil in the same month has increased by 3 per cent to 13.74 LT.
In the national capital, cottonseed mill delivery (Haryana) oil edged up by Rs 20 to Rs 5,750 per quintal. Prices of Oilseeds like Mustard seed is Rs 2,950-3,050 and groundnut seed is Rs 2,150-2,900. Vanaspati Ghee (15-litre tin) is Rs 850-1,065. Also Non-edible oils rates like Linseed Rs 8,500, Castor Rs 9,800-9,900, and Neem Rs 5,350-5,450.
